  • the newest IT trends
  • challenges facing IT professionals
  • teamwork and collaboration.

And there’s plenty of fun along the way!

This year, the summer school will be a hybrid event: work on the projects will be conducted online, with the students gathering in major cities in their respective countries for final days of presentations, group activities and fun! The participants will operate in mixed, international teams, with each team assigned an expert mentor who will guide them through the entire project.

EDIT IT Summer School is completely free. Applications will open soon, so stay tuned!

#EDITworld22, 18th to 29th July, Serbia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina

EDIT summer online school will give you the opportunity to take control of your career and place yourself on the path to becoming a future IT professional.

The program combines lectures, workshops, project work and fun group activities. This year, participants will get to apply for one of the three program topics, created based on the latest technology developments and business trends:

Anomaly detection in air traffic

Creation of a microservice-architectured solution for collecting and analyzing real-time flight data. The ultimate goal of which is to use AI algorithms and detect anomalies in air traffic. Participants will be introduced to modern development principles by implementing multiple single-purpose microservices and configuring them to operate together.

For development, participants will use the Java Spring boot framework to develop services for collecting and processing air traffic data, presented through rich data visualizations using Grafana dashboards as well as custom-made React UIs. Modern AI algorithms will be applied to the prepared data to detect any anomalies in air traffic. Participants will also introduce Telegram bots as a way to interact with the overall solution.

Bring it to life with React Native

One of this year’s EDIT themes will be the development of a mobile application for processing the tasks received and passed to the user through document processing. The application will connect to the backend server using existing REST services. The tasks in question need to be done and reported by a decision made at the end, e.g. approving or rejecting a document. To facilitate the processing of work tasks, participants will use EasyTask app.

React Native is the framework which will be used for development, to create a solution that can run cross-platform – on both Android and iOS operating systems. React Native combines the best parts of native development with React, a best-in-class JavaScript library for building user interfaces.

Start your future with a low-code platform

This topic focuses on applied AI in real-world business cases: on the example of a real project, participants will be introduced to modern principles of creating Power Platform solutions.

The goal is to create a realistic solution that can be implemented in almost any company:

  • SharePoint Online – Create a SharePoint list that will be used as a data source for the application and where all data will be stored
  • Power Apps – Create a user interface
  • Power Automate – Create background automations for sending emails and generating documents
  • MS Office – Generate a template for the app

You’ll have amazing company and support every step of the way: with the power of good teamwork and mentorship in a simulated online work environment, enhanced by an interesting project to tackle, EDIT 2022 promises to be worth your while!

Don’t miss out on the chance to get invaluable hands-on experience that will be the crown jewel of your CV and place you at the top of every IT employer’s hiring list.
